<rleton College sophomore Travis Brown (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) picked up his second honor in as many days as he was selected to the D3football.com team-of-the-week.
Brown is the first Knight named to receive this weekly national recognition since kicker Brandt Davis in 2014.
Brown, who has shifted between safety and corner back this season due to injuries elsewhere on the roster, became the first Carleton football player since 2011 to pick off two passes in a contest. Both interceptions came at critical moments, helping the Knights eventually claim a 36-34 road win over Augsburg University. Carleton has now won back-to-back MIAC games for the first time since 2010.
Brown, who was voted the MIAC defensive player-of-the-week on Monday, intercepted a pass in the end zone, keeping the game knotted at 7-7. That momentum shift led to the Carleton quickly taking its first lead of the afternoon. The second interception turned into a 39-yard pick-six, extending the Knights’ lead to 26-14 and keeping Carleton in front for good.
Brown finished the day with seven tackles (six solo stops), the two interceptions, and three additional pass breakups.
