The spectacular season continued for the seventh-ranked Carleton women’s golf team, as the Knights opened the spring with a victory in the Battle at Bear Creek in Chandler, Ariz. Carleton cruised to a win over North Central (Ill.), and was led by Kelsey Moede (Lake Oswe- go, Ore./Lake Oswego) who shared medalist honors with her best round of the 2014-15 season. For her performance, Moede was awarded with the first MIAC Women’s Golf Athlete-of-the-Week award of the 2014-15 season.
The Knights’ senior rolled in four birdies and carded her season-best score of 76 to finish in a tie for first, sharing individual medalist honors with teammate Shannon Holden. Carleton, as a team, finished with a score of 307 and the team notched a 32-shot win over North Central, which is ranked No. 57 in the Golfstat rankings. Moede is the fourth different Knight to earn MIAC Women’s Golf Athlete-of- the-Week honors in 2014-15, joining Holden (Sept. 3), Geraldine Tellbuescher (Sept. 10) and Grace Gilmore (Sept. 17).
