Women’s soccer keeps winning

<rleton women’s soccer team continues to win in its bid to make the MIAC playoffs. On Sat., Oct. 20, the team had an overwhelming 5-0 road victory over Hamline University in which Dylan Welch ‘08 led the Knights with a goal and to assists. Sophie Wood ‘09 notched her first goal of the season that also opened up Carleton ‘s scoring for the game. In addition, Melley Turner ‘09, Merritt Swain ‘10 and Martha Polk ‘08 added goals in the rout.

On Thursday, Oct. 25, Carleton continued its domination with a resounding 4-0 victory over College of St. Catherine at Bell Field. Melley Turner ’09, Carleton’s leading scorer, scored twice in addition to goals by Nicky Bloom ’09 and Liz Arakaki ’11.

The Knights will have a chance to seal a trip to the MIAC playoffs with a victory over crosstown rival St. Olaf on Satuday at 1 p.m.. If the Knights make the playoffs, they will most likely play St. Benedict’s or Concordia College on the road in the semifinal round.
