<men's Gold team traveled to the Wartburg Invitational, rookie Kelsey Moede had a strong weekend, pulling out a second-place individual finish with a score of 13-over-par 157. She also posted a career-best six-over par 78 in the final round of the tournament.
Moede finished only two shots behind Gustavus senior Taylor Drenttel, and one shot ahead of Wartburg’s Paige Klostermann.
The score was Moede’s highest career finish, and her second straight top-ten finish in a competition. In addition to hitting three birdies on the first day, she parred all five final holes, hitting the green all five times.
Senior Traci Johnson also had a solid weekend, tallying roungs of 87 and 83 to finish with 170. Freshman Taylor Wells also finished at 171, while freshman Fina Kabasakalis finished at 168.
No. 19 Carleton ended the tournament with a final score of 666, only two shots beind No. 12 St. Olaf. No. 5 Eau-Clare won the event, with a final score of 638.
The Knights will close their regular season this Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, by hosting the Carleton Invitational at Northfield Golf Club. Tee time is 1 p.m. on Saturday, and 11:15 a.m. on Sunday.
