Schmidt headed to Nationals

<t has become a pattern, Kathryn Schmidt ‘12 has been selected to compete in the singles bracket at the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships. This is the third straight year Schmidt received an invitation to Nationals, which will be played May 27-29 in Claremont, Calif. Schmidt owns a 26-1 career record versus MIAC competition at first singles.

The NCAA individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams—eight individuals and four duos per region. Two singles players and two doubles teams per region are selected as alternates in case a player or team becomes injured or unavailable. Schmidt and partner Erin Gudul ‘12 were ranked fifth in the Central Region and will serve as the region’s first doubles alternate for the second straight year.
