<u’ve heard of Engagement Wanted, the new program that connects Students with Alumni to help students find jobs and advice. The Career Center has tried hard to make sure that the word is out on one of the easiest ways to make a big difference for your future. So why haven’t you signed up yet? A lot of you have signed up already, but there are plenty of you who still have the opportunity to create a profile. Here’s why:
The first Engagement Wanted profiles were sent out last Friday. The next day, there were job offers. And even more than job offers, there was contact. So, if you think it’ll be a waste of time, don’t worry. Your profile goes directly to alumni who can help you find what you’re looking for. It might not work for everyone, but it can work for you.
Not everyone is looking for a job next year. Maybe you’ve gotten into grad school already, or maybe you found a job on your own. What other information do you want? Curious about what it’s like to live in a new city? Questions about a job you’re interested in? Ask for what you need! Engagement Wanted can do more than just help you find a job.
Is there any reason not to write an Engagement Wanted profile? Check a few boxes and write a 500 character profile, and you’re done! The website does all the work for you. At the very least, you might make a connection that can you help in the future. You won’t know what opportunities can come your way unless you try. There’s nothing to lose. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity.
Head to carltown.carleton.edu to update your profile for Engagement Wanted. If you need help, head to the Career Center website or ask a Career Advisor for help! You’ve got all summer, but the sooner you write one, the more good it will do.
