<rs! If you didn’t make it to launch of Engagement Wanted last night, don’t worry! You can create and update your Engagement Wanted profile anytime between now and the end of the summer. The sooner you’ve created it, the more chances your profile has to connect with the right Parent or Alumni. Engagement Wanted is a quick, low-commitment, no-risk way to boost your career search.
Writing a 500-character profile can be harder than it sounds, though. What should you say? What shouldn’t you say? How can optimize your profile to do the most work for you? The Career Advisors in the Career Center, and the Writing Assistants in the Write Place have all been trained to help you do just that. Stop by during their hours and ask them to take a look at what you’ve got, or to help your write it from scratch. It’s never too late to change your profile, so don’t worry if you’ve already written one.
All the information you need to create a profile is available on the Career Center website. Instructions on how to set it up, successful examples from last year, and comments from the participants are all available. Engagement Wanted’s first year saw success, and this year promises to be even better. Juniors and sophomores should stay tuned for updates this spring. Don’t delay in writing your profile. 5 minutes of writing could mean finding a job or making a connection that you would have otherwise missed. Get started today!
