Carleton is currently experiencing weather warm enough to melt the snow and ice that are usually the natural enemy of Carls showing their pasty white limbs in public. Because we live in a state that is usually too cold in the winter even for geese, one can only conclude that the snow has gone mad due to the unseasonable warmth and has decided to make itself as ugly as humanly (meteorologically?) possible.
It seems that the price for being to able to walk across campus with your jacket open is the immanent risk of stepping in puddles, getting snow sludge in your shoes, and having to look at snow and ice patterns which are categorically gross and wet. This photo series taken with a sophisticated iPhone camera on the journalist’s walks between classes documents some unique snow patterns only seen in this type of weather.
