BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Carleton College junior Hannah Preisser collected her third consecutive MIAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week Award.
This marks only the fourth time since 2005 that a MIAC women’s cross country runner has captured three consecutive conference weekly honors. The other racers to do so were Carleton’s Simone Childs-Walker in 2011 and 2023 national champion Fiona Smith of Saint Benedict in both 2021 and 2023.
This was Preisser’s sixth conference weekly award of her collegiate career and the fourth weekly accolade of the season.
Preisser clocked a personal-best time of 20:56.0 and was the top Division III finisher at the 19-team Linfield (Ore.) Invitational on Oct. 19. She broke 21 minutes for the first time and placed third overall in the 180-racer field.
Her performance led the No. 11-ranked Knights to a third-place team finish, behind only regionally-ranked NCAA Division I programs from Oregon State University and University of Portland.
This was the Knights’ final tune-up before the MIAC Championships to be held on Saturday, Nov. 2.
