Women’s Cross Country
The Knights, the defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champions, maintained their Number 1 ranking in the North Region and moved up to Number 11 in the nation in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings. Coach Donna Ricks’ squad has been ranked as one of the top thirty teams in the nation for the last twelve years and 114 polls. The team is undefeated so far this season and are set to compete in Independence, Oregon at the Linfield George Oja Cross Country Invitational on October 19, facing strong out-of-region-and-division competition.
Women’s Golf
This season’s Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) runner-ups is ranked 18th in the nation according to the Women’s Congressional Golf Association. The Knights placed eleventh with a total team score of 918 at the Golfweek October Classic on October 13-15, facing off with some of the top Division III teams in the country. Carter Sichol ’26 had a noteworthy performance, tying for eleventh with a total score of five-over-par 221 to lead the team. Sarah Zheng ’26 was second on the team, tying for 48th with a 14-over-par score of 230, while Cynthia Lu ’26 tied for 60th with a 14-over-par score of 232, scoring a one-under-par 71 in the first round. Anna Lee ’28 tied for 81st with a total score of 239, while Natalie Tatar ’25 tied for 89th and finished the tournament with a total score of 241.
Men’s Golf
The Knights made history with a MIAC tournament title and are ranked in the top-25 in the nation for the first time in two decades. They qualified for the NCAA tournament in May of 2025 with their MIAC title.
Women’s Soccer
The (10-1-3, 5-0-2 MIAC) Knights tied St. Catherine University on October 12, with Piper Dean ’25 scoring a goal. The Knights had eleven shots, five of them on goal. The game was a rematch from last season’s MIAC playoff game, which St. Catherine won. The teams are currently tied for the regular season MIAC lead. Goalkeeper Avery Trapp ’27 won MIAC Defensive Player of the Week awards for her 5 blocks against St. Catherine’s.
Men’s Soccer
The (7-3-3, 2-3-0 MIAC) Knights defeated Cornell College 1-8 on October 12, with Blake Jones ’25, Alexander Grosse ’26, Dylan Fox-Arnold ’25, and Luke Wharton ’25 scoring a goal apiece and the opposing team scoring an own goal and Owen Flanagan ’25 scoring twice. Flanagan earned MIAC Offensive Player of the Week award. The senior scored the single goal in the October 15 win against Macalester College, and goalkeeper Daniel Linder ’25 saved three shots on goal for a clean sheet.
Volleyball
The (11-8, 1-3 MIAC) Knights lost 3-0 in the “Battle 4 the Bell” to St. Olaf College on October 11. Team leaders were Rachel Bingham ’27 with six kills, Kerrigan Candra ’25 with three aces, Jennifer Bricker ’27 with six blocks, and Megan Smith ’25 with fourteen assists and eleven digs. The team won 3-1 against St. Mary’s University on October 12. In that game, Dixon tied her career high for kills with twenty-two, Smith had a career-high fifty-one assists, seventeen digs and fourth consecutive double-double and Bingham and Ellewyn Stafford ’28 had eleven kills each.
Football
The (2-3, 1-2 MIAC) Knights lost to St. Olaf College 13-19 on October 12, with Ntense Obono ’25 and Tyler Diamond ’26 scoring touchdowns and Markus Merkelbach ’26 scoring a field goal.
