<ast weekend GOP headed out west to participate at the Stanford Open, held in Stevinson, California. They had a successful Saturday going 3-1 in pool play, losing the the second overall seed UC-Berkeley 10-7 while defeating UC-Santa Cruz, Whitman, and Claremont.
On Sunday GOP began by defeating Las Positas on universe point in the prequarters. This created a matchup against UC-Davis in the quarterfinals. Again this game went to universe point but this time America’s A team could not pull it out. But with their strong showing in the winter season, GOP is currently ranked third in the D-III rankings.
This weekend both CUT and Syzygy will be in action for the last time before spring break. Syzygy is headed to Midwest Throwdown in St. Louis.CUT is headed to the Stanford Invite, which was relocated from picturesque Palo Alto to Stevinson in the central valley due to too much water on the fields. Despite the new travel problems, CUT is anticipating a good weekend.
As soon as exams finish, most of the ultimate teams will make their anual migration south to the land of warm climates and outdoor ultimate. CUT and Syzygy will be heading to Texas, while GOP will be going down to South Carolina.
But ultimate will be back at Carleton in the spring as rumor has it that Carleton will again be hosting the UPA Central Regional Tournament.
