COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Carleton College men’s swimming & diving team won five events during its dual meet at Saint John’s University, but the Knights came up short with a final score of 156-144.
Carleton posted the top three finishers in the 100-yard backstroke. Ethan Tun ’25 earned first place with a time of 54.79 seconds. He was followed by Nicholas Chang ’26 (55.10) and Ian Scott ’24 (55.96).
The Knights saw similar success in the 200-yard backstroke, with Chang winning the event with a time of 2:00.36 and Scott coming in second with a time of 2:02.44.
Tun also prevailed in the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing first with a time of 2:13.76.
Jackson Rankin ’27 won both butterfly competitions, setting the pace in the 100-yard event with a time of 53.05. He prevailed in the 200-yard race with a time of 1:59.35.
Hans Anderson ’26 came second in both diving competitions, posting a score of 242.25 on the lower height and a score of 235.85 on the three-meter board.
While Carleton won only five of the 16 events, the Knights’ depth kept the team’s score close.
