Men’s soccer picks up after slow start

< a slow start to the 2009 campaign, the men’s soccer team has battled back to the top of the MIAC conference. While the team graduated a significant number of players, new recruits as well as key returners have made important contributions to the team’s recently found success.

A backline anchored by seniors Robert “R-Cut” Carlton , Lyndon DeSalvo, and Ross Hamilton, has already racked up three shutouts this season. A youthful midfield led by Ryan “Skittles” Cammarota ’12 and Alex Voorhees ’13 has earned a feared reputation throughout the Midwest due consistent dominating play.

The Knights attack has discovered new life thanks to the play of Tim “One-speed” Wills ’12 and Miles Silbert ’12 as they have combined for a total of six goals through the first seven games this season.

The Knights have won four out of their last five games to bring their record to 4-3. The team looks to continue their success with two home MIAC contests this week. On Saturday the Knights will face off against Hamline University at 1:00 pm and against Macalester College next Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
