Big week ahead

<men’s Soccer team has had more losses this season than originally hoped for, but most of their losses have been to nationally ranked teams so there has been no loss in confidence or excitement for the team. They are playing well, looking good, and getting ready for a big next couple of weeks.

The Knights dominated Bethel with a score of 3-0 on beautiful Bell on October 4th. The goals were struck well and finished by Abby Wills ’12, Sophie Wood ’09, and Cassie Burke ’12. After crushing their opponents on Saturday morning the Knights were up and ready to go on Sunday, October 5th, to play the women of UW-Eau Claire who are currently ranked third in the nation. It was a well-fought battle for the full 90-minutes but the Knights, unable to finish on some incredible break-aways, shots, and crosses, lost with a score of 1-0.

This past weekend, however, the Knights bounced back from their loss and controlled their next non-conference game against Luther College. The Knights took control of the game early on with a goal by Wills in the 33rd minute. Then Mia Zutz ’10 scored added an insurance goal in the 60th minute to lead the Knights to their 2-0 win.

This coming week is huge for the Knights as they have 3 conference games to play against Hamline, Augsburg, and St. Catherine’s. Come show support for the team this Saturday, 1pm, on Bell Field against Hamline.
