<ong>Writing Program wins award for improving education
Carleton’s Writing program, led by Carol Rutz, the Director of the Writing Program and a Senior Lecturer in English, was awarded the 2010 Award for Improving General Education from the Association for General and Liberal Studies at its conference held in Austin, Texas.
Wright State University and Champlain College were the two other winners of this year’s award. All three schools were awarded for creating assessment systems whereby the assessment program is evolving and improving. The awards committee were especially pleased with the interdisciplinary approach to writing and the collaboration across departments when it came to assessing student performance and improvement over their years in college.
