<an style="font-size: 12pt">Even though it’s winter outside, summer is fast approaching. How will you spend those months away from Carleton? You probably already knew that the Career Center can help you find internships and summer jobs, but there also a few unique opportunities sponsored by Carleton that you can take advantage of. Every year, Carleton sponsors students to volunteer all over the world through the Service Internships in International Development.

All you have to do is turn on the TV to see there are people all over the world who need help. There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer, but sometimes we need that extra step to get going. The Service Internships in International Development provide you the help you need to help others, granting chosen applicants up to $5,000 dollars to help them serve others.

The deadline to apply, January 29 by 5:30 pm, is fast approaching! There are several steps you’ll need to complete, including a faculty letter of recommendation and an application through the Tunnel. Career Advisors are available 11:00 am to 5:30 pm in the Career Center everyday, and are ready to help you put together an application.

If you’re a senior looking for work or anyone looking for advice, make sure to attend the Alumni Career Fair this Thursday the 28th at 6:30 pm. Alumni from various fields and industries will be gathered in the Great Hall. It’s a great opportunity to ask for advice on specific jobs and industries, or tips on interviewing, networking, and other professional skills. It’s a low pressure way to network with Alumni who are looking to help you. Refreshments will be provided, so there’s nothing to lose. We’ll look forward to seeing you!
