    Caught in the ACT

<ent Week. Remember? The ice-breakers, name-games, your first college party, and…buckthorn! Whether your liked it or not, it seems that everyone has a story to tell about picking buckthorn with their group at the RiverBend Nature Center as part of “Into the Streets,” the freshman introduction to community service at Carleton. But perhaps the class of 2012 won’t have the same fond (or otherwise) memories of buckthorn that we do. With the elimination of Pre-Frosh Trips and redesign of New Student Week, the ACT Center is contemplating reworking Into the Streets as well. This means that all ideas are fair game as we try to craft the perfect way to get new students excited about the plethora of community service opportunities that Northfield has to offer. So we want to hear from you! What did you like about Into the Streets? What didn’t you like? Drop by the ACT Center or email killeenl to share your ideas.
