Weitz opens two new shows for winter

< Perlman Teaching Museum recently opened two new exhibits, "A Complex Weave," and "Running the Numbers."

“A Complex Weave” explores issues of gender and identity through the eyes of seventeen contemporary women artists.

The show, which features drawings, painting, needlework, photography and other media, embraces the diversity of the feminist art movement. Dr. Martin Rosenberg, co-curator of the exhibition, will be leading an exhibition tour and opening reception tonight from 7:30 to 9:00pm.

In addition, there will be an artist lecture by Zoe Charlton, whose work is featured in “A Complex Weave” on Feb. 27, at 7:30pm.

The work of Seattle-based Chris Jordan in the show “Running the Numbers” takes a new approach to representing quantitative information. Jordan’s work visually represents statistical facts, mostly about human consumption, in vast visual landscapes. Both shows will run through Mar. 11.
