<od Truth is a group of students that likes, eats and talks about food and its many relationships. We have a group on campus for about 5 years now and have had varied focuses over the years - making cookbooks, getting fair trade bananas on campus, having bomb potlucks and parties, hosting discussions, visiting farms, trying to tap Carleton’s sugar maples.
We were one of the primary forces behind the switch from Sodexo to Bon Appetit in 2008, and since then have maintained good relationships with the people within and behind our campus dining halls.
This past term, we have been working with Bon Appetit, the Carleton Administration and the Real Food Challenge to implement a Real Food Campus Commitment that would commit Carleton to raising the amount of ‘Real Food’ on campus to 40% by 2020. Real Food is food that fits into one of four categories: Ecologically Sound, Fair, Humane, or Local. We want food that truly nourishes producers, communities, consumers and the earth.
Come to our meetings, learn more and participate in this process of re-imagining our food system. We meet at 8pm on Monday evenings in the Upper Sayles Lounge. Come! We will have good eats.
