Women’s Track and Field
The Knights traveled to St. Olaf for the St. Olaf Invitational on Jan. 24-25 and came back with 13 top-five finishes. Hannah Preisser ’26 won the 5000m event in the 10th-fastest time in Division III so far this season, with Sophie McManus ’25 finishing 4th in the same race. Aliya Larsen ’26 won the mile event, Libby Rowland ’25 finished 2nd, and Nora Daley ’27 finished 4th in the same event. The 4×200-meter relay won by 19 seconds. Lara Erickson ’25 won the 800-meter run, with Maddy Reckmeyer ’28 finishing 5th. Cynthia Niaz ’27 won the 3000-meter run, and Claire Myoshi ’28 and Parker Collins ’28 went one in two in the triple jump. Alice Islam ’28 finished 3rd in the high jump, and Kayla Marx ’28 was 3rd in the 1000-meter run. Preisser earned her first career Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Athlete of the Week award for her performance.
Men’s Track and Field
The Knights traveled across town for the St. Olaf Invitational on Jan. 24-25 and came back with nine top-five finishes. Soren Kaster ’27 won the pole vault with a collegiate indoor best and the 3rd-best height on the school’s all-time list, with James Gates ’28 finishing in 3rd in the same event. Gabe Nichols ’26 won the mile with a time that is the 8th-fastest in Division III so far this season, and Nathaniel Malchow ’27 won the 3000-meter event. Reese Anderson ’25 finished 3rd in the heptathlon in his collegiate debut, Lucas Heldman ’28 was 3rd in the high jump, and Ethan Cline-Cole ’25 finished 5th in the triple jump. Daniel Schneider ’28 finished fith in the 800-meter event and Josh Meier ’25 finished 2nd in the 1000-meter event.
Women’s Basketball
The Knights (three-14, two-eight MIAC) defeated St. Olaf 61-55 on Jan. 25, with Audrey Whitney ’28 scoring 18 points and Liesl McCallum ’28 scoring 15 points to lead the team.
Men’s Basketball
The Knights(13-6, 6-4 MIAC) beat St. Olaf 68-63 on Jan. 25, with Matt Drake ’28 leading the team with 13 points.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
The Knights won 15 events to beat St. Benedict 219-81 on Jan. 25, highlighted by Nina Schwab ’28’s two school records. Schwab won the one-meter diving event and registered school record scores of 280.1 and 462.7 respectively over six and 11 dives. She also won the three-meter diving event over six dives with 288.15 points and earned her 5th MIAC Diving Athlete of the Week award. Hailey Westrup ’27 finished second in all three events, registering personal bests in all three and qualifying for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Diving Regional in the one-meter 11-dive event, the 3rd-highest score in school history (425.05). The 200-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay, Grace Hou ’27 (100-yard backstroke), Emma Yao ’27 (100-yard breaststroke), Isabelle Riley ’26 (100-yard butterfly), Zoe Morton ’26 (100-yard and 200-yard freestyle), Chelsea Anderson ’28 (1650-yard and 500-yard freestyle), Nora Wootten ’27 (200-yard butterfly), Daya Tucker ’25 (200-yard breaststroke), Aubrey Tran ’27 (200-yard breaststroke) and Stephanie Baranov ’26 (200-yard IM) all won their events on the swimming side.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
The Knights lost to St. John’s College 139-161 on Jan. 25, winning six times. Hans Anderson ’27 secured his place at the NCAA Diving Regional with wins in the one-meter and three-meter diving events, totaling a score of 509.2 over 11 dives on the three-meter board that is only 2.5 points off the 1983 school record. Matthew Krogman ’27 won the 1650-yard and 500-yard freestyle, and Jackson Rankin ’27 won the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly.
Men’s Tennis
TheKnights (5-1, 3-0 MIAC) went two and one on Jan. 25 and 26, falling one-six to undefeated Morningside College before sweeping Lawrence University and St. Mary’s University (Minn.). Jasper Yang ’27 won his singles match against Morningside before winning three more matches in the next two matchups, one in singles and two in doubles with Zach Leslie ’26, who had three wins over the weekend. Ashkay Garapati won two singles matches and two doubles matches with Jack Rivkin ’26, who joined Leslie, Baiyun Jing ’27, Miles Lee ’28, Ezra Bernhard ’27 and Aiden Patel ’28 in winning three matches.
