Carleton announces partnership with Northfield YMCA regarding Prairie and Wood program

<rogram, which will now be managed by the YMCA, remains relatively unchanged, with its focus on creating a fun, cooperative learning environment that fosters an appreciation of nature. The Northfield YMCA will add its resources and programming expertise to make the Prairie and Wood experience even better. Space will continue to be utilized at Carleton’s Farm House, and Carleton students will be actively recruited to participate in the planning, curriculum, and administration of activities for the children in the program.

“This is an exciting transition for Prairie and Wood,” said Amber Cameron, Carleton’s assistant director of the Acting in the Community Together (ACT) office. “The Northfield YMCA has an excellent history of running quality summer programs for youth in our community. Prairie and Wood is lucky to have such expertise and passion fueling the camp. I am excited to hear the many ways in which the YMCA is going to foster the tradition of Prairie and Wood, while at the same time, improving and offering even more support to the camp.”
