Women’s Track and Field
The Knights opened their season at the Ole Opener on Jan. 18, recording two wins and six other top-five results. Charlotte Kusch ’28 won the 400-meter dash and placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, while Maddie Reckmeyer won the 1000-meter run. Hannah Preisser ’26, who came in second in the 3000-meter run overall, was the first-place collegiate athlete in the event and turned in the seventh-best time in Division III so far, while Sophie McManus ’25 was the fourth-place athlete and second collegiate athlete. The 4×200-meter relay placed second and the 4×400-meter relay placed fourth. Alice Islam ’28 came fourth in the high jump. The meet was not scored.
Men’s Track and Field
The Knights had two wins and eight top-five finishes at the unscored Ole Opener on Jan. 18. Josh Meier ’25 won the 600-meter run, and Daniel Schneider ’26 took second place. Soren Kaster ’27 won the pole vault and moved to fourth all-time in school history in the 60-meter hurdles, while James Gates ’28 won second place. Gabe Nichols ’26 placed second in the 3000-meter run with the 11th-best time in Division III so far, while Torte Tortensen ’27 placed fifth. Ethan Cline-Cole ’25 won fourth place in the triple jump, Emerson Lange ’26 finished fifth in the mile, and the 4×400-meter relay took fifth place.
Women’s Basketball
The Knights lost 47-77 to Bethel University on Jan. 15, a game highlighted by Audrey Whitney ’28’s game-high 18 points. They also lost a close game against Concordia College-Moorhead on Jan. 18, with Whitney scoring a game-high 19 points and Addy Huss ’28 scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Men’s Basketball
The Knights lost 81-84 on Jan. 15 after Bethel University had a late-game surge. Matt Drake ’28 and Josh Engelberg ’28 both scored career high point totals and Luke Harris ’25 scored his third career double-double. Harris scored 29 points and Spencer Goetz ’25 scored a career-best 20 points to help the team beat Concordia College-Moorhead 93-84 on Jan. 18. Jan. 20 brought a 86-70 win against Martin Luther College.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
The Knights lost 133-167 to Gustavus Adolphus College on Jan 17, recording several top-two finishes and seven event wins. Caroline Crampton ’25 won the 200-yard fly, Grace Hou ’27 and Emma Yao ’27 won the 100-yard backstroke. Lilly Sollis ’28 won the 200-yard backstroke, Bryn Ashland ’27 won the 200-yard breaststroke and was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke. Nina Schwab ’28 continued her undefeated streak by winning the 1-meter and the 3-meter events, with Hailey Westrup ’27 taking second place behind her teammate in both events. The 200-yard medley relay took second, and the 200-yard freestyle relay ended with a runner-up finish. Schwab earned MIAC Athlete of the Week honors for her performance, the fourth of her young career.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
The Knights lost 109-191 to Gustavus Adolphus College on Jan. 17, recording several top-two finishes in the process. Ethan Tun ’25 won the 100-yard backstroke, the 200-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard Individual Medley. He was also part of the 200m medley relay that took second place. Hans Anderson ’27 won the 1-meter and 3-meter events, dominating both competitions. Matthew Krogman ’27 swam a personal best for second in the 1000-meter freestyle, Leif Petricka ’28 was the runner-up in the 200-meter freestyle, Nicholas Chang ’26 swam in the 200-yard medley relay and placed second in the 200-yard backstroke, and Jackson Rankin ’27 swam in the runner-up relay and placed second in the 100-yard butterfly. Anderson earned MIAC Athlete of the Week.
