Cn ace Ethan Guevin has been selected to play for the Lehigh Valley Catz in the prestigious Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL), one of only nine summer leagues in existence across the country that is supported and sanctioned by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. Guevin will spend this summer in Easton, Pa., playing for the Catz. Dubbed “the Gateway to Professional Baseball” the ACBL is a summer wooden bat league about to enter its 42nd year of existence this summer. The ACBL has produced many current and former big leaguers including MLB all-stars Craig Biggio, Jamie Moyer, and Frank Viola. The Catz have sent more than three dozen players to professional baseball in the last seven years. Carleton head coach Aaron Rushing coached for the Catz in the summers of 2003 and 2004. “This will be a great experience for Ethan, giving him the opportunity to showcase his abilities all summer long,” said Rushing. “I hope Ethan is the first of many players we will send to the Catz.” Guevin was an All-MIAC selection for his work in 2008 and was recently selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 second team. He paced the Carleton pitching staff in wins, strikeouts and ERA for the third time. Guevin was 3-5 this season with a career-best 3.21 ERA, but his win-loss record was hurt by a lack of run support as the offense scored a total of six runs in his five defeats.
