<ir="ltr" id="docs-internal-guid-cd2dcafd-6bfa-3b40-1281-c6cbe547f59b">The Carleton College women’s tennis team received an impressive seven All-MIAC awards, four for singles play and three for doubles. Leading the way for the Knights were junior Kristina Conrad (Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) and sophomore Zoe Park (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest), who were named to both the All-MIAC singles and All-MIAC doubles teams.
This was the second year that Conrad received all-conference recognition for both singles and doubles. Overall, she went 11-7 in singles, including an 8-2 record in MIAC matches. To add to this, Conrad contributed 13 doubles victories, good for the third-most on the squad.
Park continued to establish herself as one of the top singles players in the conference as she has now been named to the All-MIAC singles team in each of her first two collegiate campaigns. She recorded 10 singles wins playing in the top spot of the Knights’ lineup and also tagged on an 8-1 conference record. Along with her impressive play in singles, Park notched 10 doubles wins while playing with three different partners.
Seniors Danielle Vasiliev (Lincolnshire, Ill./Stevenson) and Alana Danieu (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) were also tabbed to the All-MIAC singles team.
Vasiliev finished the a career sweep as this was her fourth time being voted to the All-MIAC singles team. She finished the 2018 season with 12 singles wins, tied for most on the team, and an impressive 7-1 record in conference play.
Although Danieu had previously secured a pair of all-conference awards for doubles, she added to her trophy case by representing Carleton on the All-MIAC singles team for the first time. Danieu exited her senior year with 12 hard-fought singles wins—tied with two others for tops on the roster—with a notable 8-1 conference record.
Capping off the Knight’s prowess in doubles play was Madeline Prins (So./Pacific Palisades, Calif./Palisades Charter). She was named to the All-MIAC doubles team for the first time in her career after posting an 8-2 record in conference play and tallying 14 doubles wins overall, which ranked second on the team.
As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the conference also announced the 12th annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for tennis. Danieu was selected by her coaches and teammates for this award, which recognizes individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
