Promising tennis seasons end at MIAC playoffs

<rleton College women’s tennis team fell behind early and never recovered as the Knights dropped a 5-1 result against University of St. Thomas in the semifinals of the MIAC Playoffs.

Joyce Yu (Jr./Taipei, Taiwan/Taipei American School) and Alana Danieu (Fy./East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) registered the lone victory for the Knights (14-4) with their convincing 8-1 win at second doubles.

The overall match was much closer than the final score indicates. Of the six singles contests, four went to a third set and another was headed for a tiebreaker when play was halted. St. Thomas picked up wins at second, fifth, and sixth singles to close out the match.

The Knights have participated in the MIAC Playoffs in all nine years of its existence. It would not be a surprise to see Carleton back here again next season as the Knights do not have a single senior on the roster, let alone in the lineup.
