Over break, the Carleton men’s golf team participated in the 44th Marine Federal Credit Union Intercollegiate Golf Championship at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The Knights finished 10th out of 14 teams and junior Ned Rohrbach (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) led the squad with a three day total of 224. Rohrbach finished in a tie for 12th out of 70 competitors and turned in an impressive even par round of 72 on day two of the tournament.
Carleton tallied a 54-hole total of 901 (326, 301, 313), with the second round total of 301 matching their season best. Freshman Avery Tribus (Madison, Wis.) carded a career-best second round of 74, and posted a 235 total. Brian Herlihy (Jr./Danbury, Conn./Immaculate High School) and Evan Anderson (Fy./Stillwa- ter, Minn./Stillwater) rounded out the second round scores with 77 and 78 respectively. Herlihy finished with a three round total of 239 and Anderson was close behind with a 242 total.
During the fall season the Carleton College men’s golf team finished the MIAC Championships in seventh place—their best finish since 2010—after shooting a three-round total of 934. The Knights shot a final day 307, their lowest team score of the tournament. Leading the way during the 54-hole competition was Rohrbach, who tied for eighth overall. He gained MIAC All-Championship Team honors for being one of the top ten individual players.
