Colby Seyferth (Sr./Banks, Ore./Banks) opened his senior season with several spectacular performances at the Carleton Triangular. He won two individual events, anchored a winning relay, and was second in two other competitions to help the Carleton College Men’s Track and Field squad to the team victory. The Knights finished with 139 points to out-pace St. Olaf (106) and Hamline (12).

“We had a great meet tonight; my guys really had fun,” said Carleton head coach Dave Ricks. “Many of my guys already look like they are in mid-season form.”

Seyferth won the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.86. In his first attempt at the 55-meter hurdles, he was first to the line at 8.45 seconds. He was also second in the long jump and high jump before closing the meet with the 4×400-meter relay.

In that event, the senior combined with Alexa Feeney (Fy./St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North), Jerry Cook-Gallardo (Fy./Moscow, Idaho/Moscow), and Jack Percival (Jr./Newport Coast, Calif./Sage Hill School) for a six-second margin of victory at 3:26.59.

Percival and Cook-Gallardo added individual victories as well, prevailing in the 600-meter dash (1:23.80) and 800-meter run (1:57.1), respectively.

Twins Noah Laack-Veeder (Sr./Madison, Wis./LaFollette) and Thor Laack-Veeder (Sr./ Madison, Wis./LaFollette) finished 1-2 in the 1000-meter run. Thor took eht lead from the gun and led the first three laps until his brother pushed ahead and finished with a time of 2:34.40.

Jonah Barry(Jr./Madison,Wis./Madison West) was first to the line in the 3000-meter run with a time of 8:35.59.

The first attempt of Dwight Alexander’s (Fy./ San Francisco, Calif./Lawrenceville School) career was good enough to win on this evening as he prevailed in the long jump with a distance of 5.93 meters (19 feet, 5.5 inches).

Maurice Hicks (Fy./Upper Marlboro, Md./ Maret School) had the top distance in the triple jump at 12.68 meters (41 feet, 7.25 inches).

Jiatao Cheng (Sr./Gurnee, Ill./Warren) earned first place in the weight throw following his personal-best heave of 14.18 meters (46 feet, 6.5 inches).

Evan McNeil (Sr./Burnsville, Minn./Acad- emy of Holy Angels) recorded a convincing triumph in the pole vault after clearing an indoor personal-best of 4.28 meters (14 feet, 0.5 inches).
