Johnson got off to a good start in the javelin Saturday at Luther, taking the lead with just two rounds remaining. However, a Luther student-athlete pulled ahead on the second-to-last round, leaving Johnson with just one more chance. She came through in a big way, recording a throw of 36.78 meters on her final attempt to pull back in front and secure the win. The distance is her personal best and the fifth-best javelin performance in Knights’ history. It ranks second in the MIAC this season, less than one meter behind the leader.
