<rleton College Hosts Screening of Documentary Film, “Troubled Waters”
Carleton College’s Environmental Studies Department will host a public screening of the Emmy-winning documentary film, Troubled Waters: A Mississippi River Story, in Boliou Hall, room 104, at 5:30 p.m. on Thurs., Nov. 3. This event is free and open to the public.
Acclaimed Documentary “Miss Representation” Coming to Carleton
Carleton College, in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Northfield and Cannon Falls, will present a free public screening of the acclaimed documentary film “Miss Representation” on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Weitz Center for Creativity Cinema. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion and reception. This event is free and open to the public.
“Haiti’s Struggle for Justice and Food Sovereignty”
Haitian Agriculture and Human Rights Activist Lavarice Gaudin will deliver a this public talk Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Weitz 236. Gaudin began working on economic development projects with indigenous Guatemalan communities in 1988, and has served as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program’s Bureau for Latin America and advisor to the World Council of Indigenous Peoples.
