<me point over these past four years, learning in its pure form – a desire simply to understand the world that we live in – became a motivating force in my life. I can attribute that to many things – but especially good professors and small classes, followed by travel abroad and other opportunities to engage with my peers. At Carleton, I talked about real issues and the human experience with intelligent, diversely interested people. I am leaving Carleton with a feeling of connectedness between the various disciplines and an understanding of the universal benefits of any kind of study. I know that the sort of liberal arts education I have received here not only opens up many horizons in the working world, but also has – and will – continue to enrich my life at its deepest levels. Plainly put, my time here has made me incredibly optimistic about the future. I am very grateful to the Northfield and Carleton community for supporting me over this time.
