<gical 2007 season came to an abrupt end when the NCAA Men's Soccer Selection Committee elected not to offer Carleton College one of the 20 at-large bids into the 57-team field for the 2007 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship. The Knights, ranked No. 15 in the most recent NSCAA/Adidas® poll, were among the team’s whose chances for an at-large bid were hurt by upsets in other conference tournaments.
The team went undefeated in the conference, captured Carleton’s first conference title and set the school record for wins.
The 2007 season was full of highlights for the Knights (14-2-3), who earned Carlson his 100th career win and advanced to the conference playoffs for the first time.
Gustavus Adolphus earned the conference’s automatic qualifier by winning the MIAC Playoffs at the Knights lost in the first round.
